Hipster!

I don't think I'm the only one completely obsessed with hipster-wear. I love high top shorts, I like dip-dyed hair, and can't get enough of flower headbands! Most hipster fashion  is also budget friendly. For example, alot of my accessories come from Claire's because its cheep and cute! Yes, some stuff from there is cheesy or for younger kids, but I go for the hair accessories. Another place that has great accessories is forever 21. I always get my bows from there.

High top shorts are coming back in a big way. A good way to get some without breaking the bank is to go thrift shopping! I go to Good Will or Salvation Army, and they have some of the ugliest pants there, but all you need to so is cut them and dye them! Honestly this is a huge recommendation because other wise your going to pay 30- something dollars for shorts you could have easily made!

A personal favorite of mine is dip dying or ombré your shorts. It makes them more interesting and cuter than just cut offs. You can always sew things on later too.

What do you do with the part of the pants you cut off??
-visit the site next week and ill tell you some amazing and easy DIY projects you can do with all that extra fabric you cut off!

Surprisingly, I've noticed in Vogue, Cosmo, and other magazines that everyone is raving about crimping you hair??? Yes, while it is defiantly a 70's thing, crimping is coming back! I'm not talking about the whole head type of thing, just small sections to volumize your hair, which is healthier than ratting it anyways. So keep an eye out for that and try it next time you  feel adventurous! You might just live what you see.

Hipster is about bein creative and edgy, and finding new and inventive ways to wear things other people might not do! Next week is DIY project week! Ill show you a few DIY projects I've successfully done, and love!

Layers!

Happy thursday!! Today at school I noticed that now that it's spring time, everyone is cold in the morning and hot in the afternoon. A good way to fix this is layering! Just having layers is a great way to look fashionable, and still be comfortable throughout the day.

Layering to me came hard at first. I mean, I didn't get it! What I ended up doing is going to places like forever 21 and urban outfitters and looking at what the manaquins were wearing. Most of them were layered with tank tops, shirts, jackets, and coats. So I started putting together stuff I already had at home that resembled the models. What I found was the less you think about it, the easier it is!

Cute things I love to do to rock an indie layered look is layering prints over one another. For example, polka dots and Aztec print. Things you normally wouldn't put together look great if its layered with a solid color nearby, like a scarf, or a cute coat.  Normal fashion rules aren't as important in layering because your focus isn't on only a couple prints or colors.

Different sized tank tops are also cute over one another, so I usually have a couple tanks, a loose shirt, and then a hoodie, and if its very cold, a coat as well! It sounds like a lot, but it looks so cute as an end result!

Layers are great because not only is it cute, but as the days get hotter, just peel off those layers! That way it's as cute as it is practical. Comment thoughts,  things you like, or things I should change! And ideas for next week

Boho week!

Hello :) I'm posting today even though its not a Monday because its my first blog! Yay!

So im sure everyone loves the relaxed boho style that we all see people rocking,  right? This week ive been loving the boho life, and rocking it every day :) Living at the beach, I've realized not only is it incredibly 'in' right now, but it's also practical, which is sometimes a problem with more chic styles.

What is boho anyway? I mean,  sure all you think about is high waisted shorts, cropped tops, and long wavy hair, but who in the world knows how to pull it off? Sexy, yet classy, I've found plenty of examples of women who pull this loved style off flawlessly.

Welcome to ButtonsAndBows!

Bows and buttons are two of my favorite things when it comes to fashion. I can't ever leave anywhere until theirs a bow in my hair, and my obsession over buttons in unexpected places  is unreal.

I'm starting a blog because fashion is so important. As Neigel from The Devil Wears Prada would say, "You live your life in it, literally!"

So, every Monday ill put up a new post about the latest thing I've found, or a new craze I saw. I picked Mondays because everyone has bad Mondays, and what's better than obsessing over fashion to start off the week?
